“In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order.”
- Carl Gustav Jung
Tuesday's Sagittarius Full Moon creates a vast opening of a stream of consciousness and expanded awareness as the Full Moon activates the Galactic Center, a supermassive black hole associated with clearing away density, allowing for access to higher realms.
This Full Moon illuminates long-held beliefs and may have many questioning the nature of truth, justice, spirituality and higher-mind awareness.
The Sagittarius Moon is often drawn to taking up a crusade or the expression of righteousness. And as Mars conjoins Chiron in Aries, the archetype of the wounded warrior continuing to pursue justice through maverick willpower is strong in the collective.
However, the Full Moon's square to Neptune in Pisces threatens to delude the collective consciousness with confusion. We'll want to be especially wary of Neptune's illusory effects which may manifest as glamor, idealization, overwhelm, chaos or paranoia.
While the nature of the Neptunian shape-shifting can take many forms, if we cast others in the roles of Angels or Demons in the dramas of our lives then we're likely under Neptune's spell of distortion.
As the poet Rainer Maria Rilke once exquisitely mused, “Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.”
Exaggerated expectations of the Sagittarius Full Moon may run into disappointment as Neptune squares the Full Moon, which continues as the Gemini Sun makes the square exact on June 16. If we've over-idealized something or someone, we may end up disillusioned when reality sets in and the bubble bursts.
At its best, Neptune can offer the opportunity for transcendence. If the tsunami of chaos becomes agitated, oftentimes the best escape route is via a higher viewpoint that transcends either/or scenarios of winners and losers, until perspective is regained.
Fortunately, Saturn retrograde is sextile the Sagittarius Moon and trine the Gemini Sun (exact on the 16th), offering some grounding and perspective. If we refrain from going over the deep end in our enthusiastic pursuits of truth and justice, we may save ourselves through Saturnian self-responsibility and restraint.
Some Saturnian advice that may be helpful at this time comes from Atomic Habits author James Clear who noted, “It is so easy to overestimate the importance of one defining moment and underestimate the value of making small improvements on a daily basis.”
