Pluto enters Aquarius - March 23 to June 11

Uncategorized Mar 18, 2023

Pluto enters collective-orientated Aquarius on March 23 and as expected, collective eruptions are acute at the moment. Pluto represents intense forces which often manifest as power and powerlessness, and can be either compellingly creative or devastatingly destructive.

Pluto will only reach 0 Aquarius before backtracking into late Capricorn on June 11 and won't return to truly begin it's Aquarian journey until January 22, 2024. It will transit Aquarius until January 2044. During this period from March 23 to June 11, we're offered a preview of the upcoming 20 year transit of Pluto in Aquarius may bring. I'd like to reflect on some important themes to observe during this time.

Financial Crises
In my recent article on the Pluto in Capricorn Crisis I reflected upon the 2008 financial crisis that signaled the entry of Pluto into Capricorn. Now, as Pluto prepares to leave Capricorn for Aquarius, a similarly intense banking crisis is emerging, with Aquarian nuances. I'm not a finance expert but from the view of astrology and the archetypal symbols of Capricorn and Aquarius, the current financial crisis is highlighting serious problems in Capricornian traditional banking and investing against Aquarian cryptocurrencies. A week ago, $70 billion was wiped out of crypto accounts but now, cryptos are surging as the banking crisis spreads. It seems that crypto is going through some intense growing pains as traditional financial systems and government attempt to contain it.

Collective Crisis
Aquarius is the sign most associated with the collective and as Pluto enters Aquarius there are some significant wide spread protests that are worth noting, in particular those in France and Israel. While each are for their own intentions, both are a reaction to intense public rage over changes impacting everyday citizens, made by governments forcing through changes. Intense autocratic forces are being met with resistance from collective forces. Once Pluto enters the Fixed sign of Aquarius, we may see these dynamics continue to persist with neither side giving an inch. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and this can be seen whether Pluto is in Capricorn or Aquarius.

Pluto Generations
We often hear about the Saturn return as a time to enter into adulthood, but an even more profound experience is the Pluto square, when transiting Pluto squares natal Pluto. While Saturn teaches us responsibility and rising to the demands of society, Pluto operates on the level of the unconscious. Those born with Pluto in Scorpio (Millenials) will experience their Pluto Square and the Pluto in Leo generation (Boomers) and for them the intensification of Pluto's energies will be especially personal. Often there is a sense of disempowerment which activates the life force to dig deep and find one's personal power. Sometimes that comes through intense rage, deep soul searching or finding the power to let go of outworn ideas and the need to prove one's self to others. Ultimately, the only relationship worth saving is that with the Soul.

Pluto Process
Pluto reveals what is in decay and eliminates all but the essentials. The Pluto Process of metamorphosis often begins with a crisis and symbolic death in order to regenerate a new cycle of empowerment. Check out my YouTube video on the Pluto Process to learn more about this phenomenon.
