Insight:

"Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.”
― Martin Luther King Jr.

Monday's Cancer Full Moon is a climax of powerful transformative forces
. The Moon is in its sign of rulership in Cancer, it will likely bring forth emotional neediness. Cancer craves comfort and the security which comes from the familiar. I write this from my cozy home office as a snowstorm intensifies outside my window and I sense the craving for security while the powerful forces of nature are gathering.

The Sun's polarity in Capricorn suggests a balance between stoic responsibility and emotional reactivity. Today the Sun conjoins with powerful Pluto - and if that weren't enough to signal an illumination of powerful ego drives, it activates the degree of America's Pluto return at 27 Capricorn. This aspect has been in orb for about a year, bringing forth some of the nation's foundational issues regarding power and abuses of power to the forefront.

On both the collective and personal level, the Sun-Pluto illuminates powerful forces of creation and destruction present, as well as our own relationship to power and powerlessness. Some liken this aspect to 'secrets being revealed' - however, it can also be that what has been ignored, hidden or denied now must be faced, no matter how unpleasant. In Capricorn, themes of authority, responsibility and control are emphasized. For more on the Pluto archetype, watch my video on Pluto for the Stormie Grace Academy.

That the Full Moon falls on Martin Luther King Jr. Day - whose own Sun-Midheaven are being transited by Pluto - suggests a time to become more deeply aware of his profound impact on the collective consciousness. He's one of the greatest examples of Capricorn compassionate leadership and dedication to the power of justice. We can count him among our wisest and most courageous ancestors.

The following day, Uranus, the Great Awakener stations direct in Taurus, squared by Mercury retrograde in Aquarius. These days can have massive shifts and unexpected twists in store - we're already witnessing one major Earth-shattering event unfold with the Tonga underwater volcano and the potential of tsunamis, a physical manifestation of the energetic potency in the atmosphere.

Uranus is the catalyst to break free from complacency and liberate from constrictions. As it begins to move forward again in the Fixed Earth sign of Taurus, we realize that we have the power to be part of the changes we want - and need - to see in the world. On the Full Moon Washington DC chart, Uranus is at the Midheaven, suggesting a sudden change in direction or important breakthrough.

At this Cancer Full Moon, the more we sense danger, the more we may crave comforts, emotional security and self-care. The energies can be especially nerve-wracking these few days, so caring for the body, mind and soul are essential. Connect with those who help you feel cared for - or you may find yourself caring for others in need. Once the intensity passes, we can have a better sense of responding to life from a place of equanimity, stability and true power.
