A Surprising Pisces Lunar Eclipse

On Friday, August 28 at 12:15 am EDT, the Full Moon aligns with the Lunar Nodes to form a partial Lunar Eclipse at 4 degrees Pisces/Virgo.

I've had my eyes on this lunation for weeks because it'll be especially de-stabilizing as it squares Uranus in Gemini. The Pisces Full Moon conjoins the North Node which suggests emotions are especially overwhelming and ready to burst. The North Node in Aquarius extends the emotion beyond the personal realm into the collective.

The Great Awakener, Uranus, has a shattering, electrifying influence. We often think of shocks when it comes to a square aspect with Uranus. As the Virgo Sun seeks order and practicality and the Pisces Moon desired to escape from worldly restrictions, Uranus in Gemini squaring them both ensures an unexpected shift is in store.

The Pisces-Virgo axis often appears in unequal relationships such as victim-savior, martyrdom or overly dependent dynamics. In health matters, Pisces may ignore the restrictions and healthy habits that Virgo requires to maintain stability and sobriety. 

The Virgo Sun is under intense pressure at the Lunar Eclipse as it is the apex of a yod, a 'finger of God,' with destructive Pluto and dissolving Neptune. That puts a lot of pressure on the Virgo Sun whose focus is on improvement. It can be intensely creative if one's focus is on creating a 'masterpiece.' However, it could also be intensely destructive if the pressure to eliminate and transcend is not well integrated.

Jupiter in Leo is the traditional ruler of this eclipse and it is in a trine to Saturn rx in Aries. Jupiter in Leo encourages expansion while Saturn rx calls for restructuring in ways that sustain a new future. Whatever is breaking up now is making way for a restructuring to support a bold future vision with a new concept of authority.

What to watch for at the Pisces Lunar Eclipse?
// Overwhelming Pisces-like emotion that can run the spectrum from compassion and empathy, to profound grief and sadness. 
// Sun-Mercury in Virgo suggests heightened discernment and re-organization, however, the shadow side can be overly hyper-critical.
// South Node conjunct Fixed Star Regulus suggests the fall of someone in a heightened position or revoking of honors.
// Liberating from overly draining relationship dynamics or unhealthy habits.
// Or overindulgence/overdose can lead to a sudden, unexpected health crisis. 
// Humility coming from stepping down from one's high horse and opening to forgiveness and healing. Can the Jupiter in Leo generosity of heart conquer all?

Consider that the Total Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 12 was the New Moon for this cycle. While that eclipse was Earth-shattering for many, what transpires at the coming Pisces Lunar Eclipse wants to transmute the energy to serve liberation.
